Born and raised in Miami, Florida, and of Bahamian descent, Gemhe Real, born George E. Meeks on November 1st, grew up surrounded by music. His Caribbean-rooted family fostered his early passion for music, which he fell in love with at the age of ten. By thirteen, he already considered himself a true artist.
Gemhe Real excelled academically and had a strong interest in sports such as track, basketball, football, and bowling, but music remained his true calling. Originally from Miami's Overtown neighborhood, he spent his childhood moving between different parts of the city. Raised by both parents until the age of six, he continued to receive support from both after their separation, and they remain actively involved in his life.
Despite getting into fights and mischief while growing up, Gemhe Real stayed focused on his music and entrepreneurial ambitions. Determined to master his craft, he set his sights on owning a clothing line, music label, and publishing company, many of which he has already achieved.
On March 22, 2020, under his label DumFly Music, Gemhe Real released his second album, *Real Life*, across all major platforms. Every track on the album was written and produced by him, a testament to his dedication to his craft. The album features Miami artist Zorenzo, and its opening track, “Tunnel Vision,” reflects his unwavering focus on his music. After spending several years writing without releasing music, Gemhe Real dedicated the last four years to fully pursuing his passion, using his music to share his story of struggle, love, family, and real life. *Real Life* embodies everything Gemhe Real stands for.
Previous projects, such as *Gemhe Real: The EP*, his debut mainstream project, and *For The Culture*, further showcase his creativity, versatility, and God-given talent.
